Rev. Tom continues to look at the Promises of God by looking at the promise of Divine Presence and Protection. God has never promised that everything will be perfect in this world - but instead he has promised that he would be with us and he would protect us from Evil. The world around us is full of darkness and things opposite of God - how would you live differently with new hope and confidence if you lived knowing God's protection over your life?
How comfortable do you feel sharing your testimony with people in your life? In this week's message, Rev. Tom helps create a biblical framework for how you can more easily share your faith story with others. A testimony or a witness is looking at the before and after in your life - how were you before you got connected to God and God's people? And, how are you now that you are trying to live the Christian way?
In week 2 of "I Promise," Rev. Tom looks at the promises of God as the perfect father. Like our worldly parents, God promises to provide, protect, and be present --- unlike our worldly parents, God always gets it right. This week we dive deeply into God's promise of provision. How would we live differently if we truly believed God provided for us?
As members of God's Church here at Grand View, we make promises of our prayers, presences, gifts, service, and witness. This week, during worship, members of our Grand View leadership share their understanding of God's call to "Be a Giver." Through scripture, stories, and witness, you are invited to make Promises to God during this season. Thank you to Melissa O., RJ M., Matt B., and Clark J. for sharing in this unique, important message.
When you're in a boat in the midst of wind and water you need an anchor to keep you in place. This is true for boating, and in this week's message, Rev. Tom explains that it is true in our faith lives. It's a basic question, but one that has to be asked - what is your anchor? And, how well are you tied to, connected to, that very thing that helps you stay steady in the midst of a storm?
Scared for Life: Week 3
Rev. Tom wraps up our "Scarred for Life" series on healing by looking at the basics of what the Bible says about Jesus' healings. Why does He heal? Because he is compassionate. What does He heal? Our bodies, minds, Spirits, emotions, and actions. How does He heal? Though natural processes, other people, and through supernatural events. And, when does He heal? Suddenly, eventually, or in heaven. It's a lot to wrap our minds around - but Rev. Tom explains healing in a new way this week.
